In the month of August 2018 when the rainy season gave a pause, I along with my friend Santhosh decided to dissolve in the beauty of Guddattu., a place where the historic Sri Vinayaka Temple is situated amidst lush greenery and surrounded by rocky mountains.

Come, on.. Let's explore Guddattu..

Situated in a tiny hamlet in Kundapura taluk of Udupi district, this temple is unique in various spheres. Thanks to its natural landscape and its unique way of formation. Many studies show that it is a natural temple (Swayambhu). You will also have similar feeling after your maiden visit here. The sanctum sanctorum Lord Ganesha is surrounded by waters amidst darkness. Devotion will flow in you while you have a glimpse of Elephant God.

Unique features of Deity:

Lord Ganesha facing eastwards is surrounded by captivatingly huge rock and verdant fields. Nowhere in this world you can find such a unique pot bellied Lord Ganesha sitting cross legged with a twisted trunk in a pool of water. Presiding deity is full submerged up to the neck in water. This idol of Lord Ganesha was neither sculpted nor installed, its a self manifested idol. The natural landscape is also at its best and one can derive peace of mind amidst the lush greenery and rhythmic background of chirping birds. Nature is at her best here and it rejuvenates you for sure. The trip here will be a dream come true for nature lovers who want to explore such kind of places.

Ayira Koda Sewa:
This sewa is one of the significant ritual performed here when your dream comes true. This is one of the powerful sewas performed. This ritual is performed by offering one thousand pots of water to Lord Vinayaka. By chanting first chapter of Rigveda, water from the pool is completely dried. Idol is applied with coconut oil followed by Panchamrita Abhisheka and Rudrabhisheka. Now the diety is decorated with flowers and it is clearly visible for the devotees. Later one thousand pots of water is filled in this pool till the neck of the idol submerged in it.

Along the river Swarna in the west coast of Karnataka you will get Udupi, a temple town. Known for its ancient temples and picturesque locations tourists will be blessed with a natural therapy which will relieve them from their stressful life. With the roaring Arabian Sea  on one side, and lush green peaks on the other Udupi district will make your visit a most memorable one. Blessed with renowned education institutions and mouth watering restaurants it will haunt you once you live from here and will attract you in future.

On 22-04-2019, I and my counterpart in travel blogging Prasanna Kumar Udyavara started our journey from Udupi. At the beginning we visited Hanging Bridge and collected few ground information and made few videos and proceeded towards Hoode beach. Admiring the scenic beauty were a dozen of visitors admiring the beauty amidst the chirping sound of feathered friends who were in a hurry to visit back to their dwellings. From Hoode beach we moved forward to Bengre which we gave major priority in our road trip.

Now let's explore Bengre, a beautiful hamlet located in the sea shore. It is one of the marvelous villages in Udupi district blessed with nature.|Kudru is a regional name referring group of islands. Bengre has also a small port for fishing activities. The main attraction of this place is the merging of river Swarna with Arabian Sea. Taking its origin in Western Ghats this river flows westwards and is a great source of living for people in Udupi district. The place where this historic river joins Arabian Sea is also referred as Delta Point or Sangama (point of confluence).

Watching sunset from this point is most awaited activity. Hundreds of people come hear to experience the real beauty of nature and capture the mesmerizing beauty and share their happiness. Kemmannu is the nearby place which is 9 kms from Udupi city. Most of the city buses ply from Udupi to Kemmannu, Hoode and Bengre.
